Editing the properties of a Table is very easy with Database Schema Designer.   Here you will find described everything you need to alter your Tables.

1. Open Table Properties

   There are a number of methods to edit a Table in the Schema.   Choose the one you are most comfortable with.

   • Open Manage Tables screen and click the "Edit" button.   See the Manage Schema Objects Tutorial to learn more about Managing objects.
   • Double-Click the Table you want to edit.
   • Right Click the Table you want to edit and choose Properties from the menu that appears.
     
2. Edit Table Properties:
   1. Basic Tab
      

      This tab is used to setup the basic properties of the Table.  Here you can:

      • Set the Root Name  of the Table.
      • Toggle the use of the Naming Convention  by checking or unchecking "Use Naming Convention".
      • Toggle the use of the Primary Key References Prefix  by checking or unchecking "Use Primary Key References".

   2. Advanced Tab
      

      This tab is used to setup the Advanced properties of the Table.   Here you can:

      • Create a description for the Table.
      • Determine if the Table is displayed on the screen and when printed.
      • Set the Filegroup that the Table is saved in.
      • Set the Filegroup that the Table's Text/Image is saved in.
      • Set the Owner of the Table
      • Set the type of Index that the Table's Primary Key uses.
      • Set the Fill Factor for the Table's Primary Key
   3. Constraints Tab

      This tab is used to Manage  the Check, Foreign Key and Unique Constraints on the Table.

      The manage functions provided here are almost exactly the same as the ones provided individually elsewhere.   The main difference being that only the Constraints that reference the Table being edited are listed.   See the Manage Schema Objects Tutorial to learn more.
      
   4. Indexes Tab
      

      This tab is used to Manage  the Indexes on the Table.

      The manage functions provided here are almost exactly the same as the ones provided individually elsewhere.   The main difference being that only the Indexes that reference the Table being edited are listed.   See the Manage Schema Objects Tutorial to learn more.
3. Click the OK button to submit your changes.
